Because there are so many healthcare plans in the market, it is useful to call our office at 214-739-1706 if you have questions about which insurance plans and coverage options are accepted by Texas Cancer Associates.  Our highly trained staff will ask for your insurance information so that they can verify your benefits and also contact your primary care physician for a referral, if necessary.

Financial Counseling
On your first visit to our office, we ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your appointment and be sure to bring your current health plan identification card.

We recognize the need for a clear patient/provider understanding about payment for services.  Know that charges for professional services and treatment depend upon your diagnosis and the terms of your insurance coverage. One of our Patient Service Representatives will explain your insurance benefits based on your current coverage.  Co-payment and unmet annual deductibles are payable at the time of your visit.  Texas Cancer Associates accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Please notify us immediately if there are any changes in your health plan coverage, place of employment or primary care physician.  When a change occurs we will verify your new coverage and inform you of any benefits changes in order to ensure a smooth transition for you.  Our Patient Services Representatives are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Referrals and Pre-certifications
Your insurance may require a referral to Texas Cancer Associates specialists by your primary care physician.  Your insurance also may require pre-certification of in-office or outpatient services.  As a courtesy to our patients, Texas Cancer Associates will make every reasonable effort to obtain these referrals and pre-certifications for you.  If these cannot be obtained before your first scheduled visit, your appointment may have to be rescheduled.

Sometimes, referrals and/or pre-certifications are required for CT-scans, x-rays and other diagnostic tests.  Some health plans specify the location for these services.  Our staff will help you through this process and answer any questions you may have.

Second Opinion Clinic
Most health plans pay for second opinions. Exactly how your insurance handles second opinions depends on your individual plan. Please check with your own policy about prior authorization, restrictions, and any associated out of pocket expenses.
